The Process
Gomez and the Ayahuasca Cartel is a multicultural music band shaped by seventies Latin American sounds. They came to us looking for a videoclip that would carry the weight of their influences without feeling like a pastiche.
We leaned into the visual language of Narcos and the beautiful but dreadful nature of nineties Colombia — a world of saturated greens, dust, and tension, where beauty and danger sit side by side.
Every detail was built to sell the era: locations, wardrobe, colour grading references, and a shot list designed to move between documentary grit and staged cinematic moments without breaking the illusion.
On set we let the band perform into the atmosphere rather than the lens, chasing the energy of a live take while the camera moved through the scene as another character in the room.
The finished clip lands the band's sound in a world that feels both nostalgic and new — a piece that reads as a short film as much as a music video.
